Bike fit and technical support are lacking compared to two other Specialized dealers that I have worked with. Other shops addressed handle bar size, stem length, stack height, and cleat adjustment. Bike surgeon did not. Staff is nice, but owner should go to SWIC and take a few refresher courses in customer service.
Bike Surgeon is truly one of the most family oriented local stores around. They take care of you and your bike as if you are getting ready for the Tour de France even if you're just riding around your neighborhood. Had a fantastic experience at the OFallon store after finding a road bike on their website (which was easy to search despite the large inventory list). Turns out the model year I wanted was at the Edwardsville location, but O'Fallon had the new model in stock and the staff was able to talk me through the features, model differences, and set me up for a quick test ride. It was important to me to stay within my budget, and the staff was supportive - instead of pushing the newer, more expensive model I was able to place a deposit on the bike I originally came for. The staff even called ahead to ensure it was put aside for me. Tomorrow I'm headed to Edwardsville to finish the purchase and pick it up! If you are looking for friendly, knowledgeable, no-pressure service this is THE store to visit. Thanks Bike Surgeon!
